CON_ presents Situation als Akt 12,39,72,3,16 – Philipp Groth’s first solo exhibition at the gallery continues the artist’s intuitive practice of transforming everyday materials into ephemeral situations.

Groth uses charcoal drawings to describe the interdependencies held contained in these arrangements which feature both manufactured and natural components. Overall, the exhibition carves out space for the viewer to reconnect with the flow of materials in the city, forming a vocabulary that describes the ambiguity of collective memory, time and space.

CON_では、Philipp Grothの初個展「Situation als Akt 12,39,72,3,16 」を開催します。本展覧会は、日常的な素材を刹那的な状況へと変化させる直感的な彫刻の実践を発表します。

彼は、木炭によるドローイングを多く用いて、工業製品と自然物の両方が持つ関係のなかでの相互依存関係を表現しています。鑑賞者が都市における物質の流れを再認識できるような空間を作り出し、集合的記憶の曖昧さを編み出します。
