PG: Shaping a gap in material that is between purposes reminds me of what I try to do in architecture — 1. opening up spaces, 2. making room, 3. inviting opportunity or/and people in. In this photo series, the resulting gaps in construction material in my neighborhood are small reasons to return to a place, a destinations to walk to, and markers to keep track of.

Hollowness acts as the definitive emergent property of the modern crisis, representing a systemic exhaustion where the outward structures of society remain intact while their internal substance has evaporated. It is not a singular event but a collective byproduct of prolonged instability—a state where institutions, language, and social contracts continue to function as mere shells of their former selves. As the crisis deepens, the "emergent" nature of this hollowness reveals itself in the gap between appearance and reality: we maintain the rituals of democracy, the jargon of progress, and the aesthetics of community, yet these forms lack the vitalizing trust or material stability required to sustain them.
